| Position Summary: |
Data analysis and the development and recommendation of transportation-oriented process improvements, solution design and/or cost savings opportunities within supply chain management with a focus on transportation and the supply chain as related to transportation costs.
The position requires knowledge of transportation analysis and planning to develop creative, yet implementable, solutions to our customer’s day-to-day problems. This position will lead change using a process oriented, data driven, and customer focused approach. Successful candidate will be team oriented with strong organization skills and the ability to support multiple tasks. |
| Primary Job Duties: |
- Collects and analyzes data for modeling, network optimization and/or supply chain re-design purposes as a result of new business opportunities or existing customer requests
- Assist in the development of supply chain network business cases with a focus on transportation and related savings, including identify risks, tracking cost savings opportunities, validating savings and communicating information to stake holders, accurately and on time.
- Understand the use of optimization/decision support tools to perform global supply chain studies, routing optimization and transportation rate analyses.
- Develops and analyzes reports making recommendations for process improvement, error correction and cost savings
- Work with Business Development executives, other engineering personnel, customer support and operations personnel to meet program cost, timeline, functional and reliability targets

| Relevant Knowledge and Work Experience: |
- Three or more years experience in supply chain, decision support systems/technology, or transportation management
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with analytical problem solving
- Experience with logistics decision support and computer modeling software (CAPS, i2)
- Ingenuity and creativity to create transportation-oriented supply chain solutions
- Experience with quality and process management tools
- Ability to lead process improvement teams
- Solid oral/written communication skills, experience preparing and presenting oral/written presentations

| Requirements: |
- Strong PC application skills - MS Excel and Access proficiency; strong skills with MS Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- B.S. / B.A. Bachelors degree in a technical field required. Analytical skills - problem identification and resolution, strategic analysis
- Ability to manipulate and interpret data
- Experience with statistical process control philosophies and methodologies
