Logistics Manager

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing and executing the daily operations of a transportation cross-dock operation handling general retail merchandise for one of Menlo’s leading customers. Primary responsibilities will be to direct all daily activities associated to the operation. The operation consists of the deconsolidation of inbound Truckload (TL) and Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments, and reconsolidation of merchandise for TL outbound to final destination. 

The successful candidate will be skilled in the management of high volume transportation and have trucking terminal operations skills. They will have management experience with a team oriented “hands-on” approach; possess strong organizational ability and time management skills to allow for working independently without on-site management contact. 

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will be to direct daily activities in relation to the operation, including the inbound and outbound movement of freight and office functions. The candidate must have strong management, problem solving and organizational skills, the ability to organize, schedule, plan daily activities and build a highly motivated staff, while supporting our customer’s requirements and meeting their needs. Understanding documentation procedures, OS&D control and tracking and reporting of shipments received and released to outbound destinations are imperative

The candidate must have the ability to develop strategic relationships with both our customer as well as with our partners. Strong knowledge of personal computer use with skills in MSOffice software is needed along with excellent oral and written communications abilities.

Financial aspects of operations, including service provider costing, cost statement analysis, and customer service are also considered as key positives of a qualified candidate. Some travel may be required.
