Logistics Supervisor I

Job Functions:

Seeking a dynamic logistics supervisor to work at our facility in Monroe, NJ. This position is responsible for managing our customer service department, as well as assisting in the operation.   Which includes coordinating the assorted activities of associates by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow by properly utilizing employees and their hours. Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy. Manages performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching. Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Logistics / Operations Manager to ensure that the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed customer expectations. 
  • Responsible for exceeding customer metrics (cost, quality, and responsiveness)
  • Coach Lean Warehousing System on the floor
  • Cross Train associates in all aspects of the warehouse operations
  • Assist in maintaining Inventory Integrity
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations for inbound / outbound SLA’s
  • Effectively interact with customer when needed 
  • Create and Maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain and Post Various Productivity and Error Reports including training and counseling
  • Timekeeping for associates
  • Manage the customer service mailbox.
  • Responsible for conducting safety trainings
  • Safety Coordinator for the facility.
Experience:

This Position requires 2-5 years supervisory experience providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics solutions in all phases of warehousing and distribution.

Education:

Degree in Logistics or related field preferred; experience may substitute for education.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a warehouse environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and warehouse equipment and may require extended hours in order to meet customer's needs. Travel may be required to customer locations.
