Position:

Transportation Planner/Analyst

Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the process flow of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-client / multi-shift distribution network.
  • Responsible to plan inbound and outbound orders utilizing an MS Access database. Planning the order includes determining quantity, weight, carrier origin and destination.
  • Develop superior customer service processes and procedures inclusive of future order and item/customer growth while upholding “best in class” customer service standards.
  • Propose and complete needed projects that support warehouse operations.
  • Support Trans/Warehouse operations teams involved with day-to-day logistics and inventory management processes.
  • Use data to continuously improve the health of the customer transportation network, recognize relevant outcome metrics that will promote a consistent, uniform and productive transportation network improving cost and services.
  • Assist the team in identifying and implementing continuous process improvements.
  • Provide leadership across departments to consistently connect transportation planning strategy, operational execution, and to ensure that results are realized.
  • Document, communicate, and train warehouse and transportation associates and management .
  • Participate actively in Company’s strategic goals and quality initiatives.
  • Promote a Lean culture and sustain Lean methodologies.
  • Accountable for Forecast, budget accuracy and overall financial responsibilities to ensure budgetary allocations, gain share calculations and expenses and accrual process, etc.
  • Must have strong project management, time management and communications skills.
  • Implement strong analytical skills and comfort with data mining and analysis using MS Access and MS Excel. Ability to write basic queries or willingness to learn. Must be able to conduct ROI / payback analysis on investments.
Job Requirements: Extensive knowledge of warehouse and transportation operations, including the flow of materials from inbound receipt to outbound shipment and delivery. Ability to manage accurate inventory levels throughout a network environment. Strong analytical, leadership, project management and communication skills. Excellent leadership skills along with exceptional order management and accurate throughput of the distribution network. Must posses the ability to have fun in a dynamic work environment.

Strong transportation experience with TL, LTL and parcel modes, customer service skills, good communication skills over the phone, email and in person, analytical skills, detail oriented, strong general computer skills including MS Excel and MS Access.
