Menlo's Sydney Logistics Centre Achieves ISO 9001

Sydney, Australia - Aug. 06, 2007 - Menlo Worldwide’s logistics centre in Sydney, Australia has been certified as ISO 9001 compliant. Auditors awarded the international quality certificate for the facility following a ‘zero non-conformance’ rating.

The certification process was part of Menlo’s quality control initiative to meet its clients’ most exacting requirements. 

“Ensuring that all aspects of our operations and processes are fully compliant with international quality standards is a pre-requisite to meet the service levels that our multinational customers demand,” said James Hsu, Managing Director, Menlo Worldwide, Asia Pacific.

Menlo Worldwide is ahead of schedule in meeting the deadline for ISO 9001 certification required by Nokia Siemens Networks Australia Pty. Ltd. under the terms of the contract signed when the global supply chain services company opened its multi-client Logistics Centre in Sydney in July 2006.

Nokia Siemens Networks Australia Pty. Ltd. was the anchor client for the new centre and Menlo oversees a variety of inventory management and customer fulfilment activities on behalf of the company.

The work scope includes management of receiving and warehousing operations that supply standard and wireless ADSL modems and accessories to local and regional Internet service providers as well as telecom carriers; and other value-added logistics services such as product postponement, inventory control, fulfilment and shipping of finished goods to customers.  Menlo also provides cost management, trend analysis and business metrics reporting.

The assignment is Menlo’s second outsourcing project for Siemens, and follows a similar program in Texas supporting Siemens in the US market.
