Con-way Freight Launches Tech Tools for Customers On The Go

Company Unveils New Smart Phone App and Dedicated Website for Mobile Devices

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - August 16, 2010

Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced it has released a free smart phone application (or “app”) for online shipping services including shipment tracking, rate quotes and document viewing, all presented on a new website specifically designed for mobile devices.

The company launched the new smart phone tools in a demonstration for customers this weekend at the NASCAR Nationwide Series CARFAX 250 race at Michigan International Speedway, where the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Mustang piloted by Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year candidate Colin Braun qualified third and finished ninth.

The Con-way Freight Tools app is available for iPhone® and Android (BlackBerry® coming soon) environments. It allows customers to complete a variety of shipping tasks on their smart phones, including rate quotes, tracking a freight shipment, viewing shipping documents and locating a service center.

The mobile website is a simplified version of Con-way Freight’s award-winning commercial website, www.con-way.com/freight, with the mobile version optimized for quick uploading and seamless, responsive functionality on a smart phone. Simplified features on the mobile site allow customers to register as web users, sign up for proactive alerts and other information, get news updates, stay current with the latest developments at Con-way Racing and more.

“We’re continually examining opportunities to make it easier for customers to do business with us — over whatever platform they find most convenient and efficient,” said John G. Labrie, president, Con-way Freight. “These new tools will be very useful to our customers on the go, putting accurate, up-to-date information about their shipments and tools that help streamline the management of their shipping needs right in the palm of their hands.”

To get the Con-way Freight Tools app, a customer can download it directly from their phone’s app store. Once downloaded, they should go to the phone’s settings and enter their Con-way Freight web registered username and password. They can then launch the app. To access the company’s mobile website, they can simply enter www.con-way.com/freight in their smart phone’s Internet browser address window to be redirected.
