Con-way Freight Names Timothy P. Dell Area Vice President of Sales, Western Area
January 29, 2009 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has promoted Timothy P. Dell to area vice president of sales, Western area. In the role, Dell will be responsible for directing the company’s sales initiatives in the eleven western U.S. states, as well as North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Texas. He will also oversee the activities of nine regional sales managers and eight national account executives.
Con-way Inc. Reports Fourth-Quarter And Full-Year Results For 2008
January 26, 2009 - Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW) today reported a net loss from continuing operations (after preferred stock dividends) for the fourth quarter of 2008 of $49.7 million, or $1.09 per diluted share. The results compared with fourth-quarter 2007 net income from continuing operations (after preferred stock dividends) of $36.9 million, or 78 cents per diluted share
Con-way Truckload Achieves Best Safe Driving Performance in 21 Years
January 21, 2009 - Con-way Truckload, a full truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that its 3,500 drivers set a company record for safe driving in 2008, reducing its total accident frequency rate by 29 percent over the past four years to a 21-year low.
Con-way Freight Opens New Service Center in Rockford, Ill., Industrial Park
January 14, 2009 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has opened a new service center in Rockford offering next-day delivery throughout Illinois and within a surrounding 600-mile radius. The facility is the first to move into the Rock 39 Industrial Park strategically located in Rockford’s I-39 Logistics Corridor approximately one hour west of Chicago. The new service center more than doubles the size of Con-way Freight’s previous operation at 401 Harrison Avenue. The company broke ground on the facility in November 2007.
