Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has been honored for its exemplary safety record by the Missouri Motor Carriers Association (MMCA). Association officials recently presented Con-way Freight with the Fleet Safety Award – City Division at the 60th annual MMCA Safety Awards luncheon in Jefferson City.
“This award underscores the dedication of all Con-way Freight employees to safety, which is one of our core values,” said David S. McClimon, president, Con-way Freight. “I commend the drivers whose exemplary safety practices brought us this recognition.”
Judges select the winners based on the lowest overall number of accidents on Missouri highways per 1,000,000 miles. The awards are sponsored by the Great West Casualty Company, one of the largest trucking-company insurers in the United States.
The MMCA was incorporated in 1937. Today, it represents the interests of more than 725 member companies that operate trucks, including both for-hire and private carriers, and allied members that provide products and services to the motor carriers industry.
