Con-way Truckload Recognizes Third Quarter Drivers of the Month

Company Honors 18 Drivers for Safety and Professionalism

JOPLIN, Mo. - October 29, 2009

Con-way Truckload, a full truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced its Drivers of the Month for July, August and September 2009. The company proudly recognized the following 18 drivers for their exceptional performance:

July

• Contractor Driver of the Month:
  Marvin Peck has been with Con-way Truckload for seven years and has driven professionally for 22 years. In 2005 and 2006, Con-way Truckload named Marvin Contractor Driver of the Year. To date, he has accumulated more than a million accident-free miles. He resides in Bartlesville, Okla., with his fiancée, Judy. When Marvin is not behind the wheel, he enjoys being at home with his family and working on his farm.

• Contractor Team of the Month:
  Kathryn Wheeler and James Fisher joined Con-way Truckload in 2008. James has been driving professionally for more than 22 years, and Kathryn for 13 years. In their spare time, the Coshocton, Ohio, driving team enjoys deep sea fishing and playing with their grandchildren.

• Company Driver of the Month:
  Calvin Shaw joined Con-way Truckload in 2000 and has been driving professionally for 37 years. He lives in Blacksburg, S.C., with his wife, Tammy. They have two children and four grandchildren. In his time off, he enjoys camping and spending time with his family.

• Company Team of the Month:
  Paul and Betsy Bowerbank have accumulated more than 1.2 million miles with Con-way Truckload and have been driving professionally for more than seven years. When not on the road, the Mesa, Ariz., couple enjoys fishing. Paul also enjoys bowling, while Betsy spends her time swimming.

• Contractor Driver of the Month:
  John Newkirk has been driving professionally since 1971. He joined Con-way Truckload in 1988, and has driven more than 1.7 million miles. John lives in Jay, Okla., with his wife, Pam. They have five children and five grandchildren. During his time off, John enjoys spending time with his family.

• Contractor Team of the Month:
  Leonard “Duke” and Sharon Locas joined Con-way Truckload in 1999. In their spare time, the Laredo, Texas, couple enjoys relaxing and traveling all over the country. They have three children and four grandchildren. 

• Company Driver of the Month:
  Catherine Cronin joined Con-way Truckload in 2008 and has been driving professionally for five years. Catherine lives in Knoxville, Tenn., where she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

• Company Team of the Month:
  Michael Beam and Billy Weaver have been driving a combined 65 years — Michael for 27 and Billy for more than 38. Michael resides in Lawndale, N.C., with his wife, Patty. They have four children and four grandchildren. Billy resides in Shady Dale, Ga., with his wife, Sandra. They have a daughter and two grandchildren. When not on the road, Michael enjoys playing golf, while Billy enjoys using his laptop computer.

• Contractor Driver of the Month:
  Ricky Hilaire has driven more than 1.7 million miles since joining Con-way Truckload in 1996. Ricky lives in Alamogordo, N. M., with his wife of 23 years, Teresa. They have five children and one grandson.

• Contractor Team of the Month:
  Michael and Jennifer Burns became Con-way Truckload drivers in 2007 and have been driving professionally for more than five years. In their spare time, the Leechburg, Pa., couple enjoys spending time with their friends and family.

• Company Driver of the Month:
  Ronald Worthington joined Con-way Truckload in 2008 and has driven more than 159,000 accident-free miles. He lives in Lafayette, Ind., where he enjoys spending time with his three children.

• Company Team of the Month:
  Travis and Sebrina Lopez have driven more than 843,000 miles for Con-way Truckload. Travis joined Con-way Truckload in 2005, and Sebrina joined as a student in 2006. The Friendswood, Texas, couple has three children. When they’re not driving, Travis enjoys hunting and Sebrina enjoys spending time with her family.
