ANN ARBOR, MI - September 27, 2006

In place of their usual delivery of shrink-wrapped palletized freight, Con-way employees will make anti-drug presentations to the students.  The company’s efforts support the Red Ribbon campaign, a nationwide anti-drug initiative that will be conducted later in the month.  Some presenters will arrive at the schools in Con-way Freight tractors and trailers, which serve as an added attraction for the youngsters.  Other activities will include face painting, pep rallies and puppet shows, all with an anti-drug theme.

After the employee makes the presentation, students will be asked to take a drug-free pledge. The company plans on distributing 800,000 ribbons with the message “Win the Race for Life—Live Drug Free” to students taking the pledge. Schools will also receive a poster featuring three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Jack Sprague and his daughter Paige who is in the seventh grade. Sprague drives the number 60 Con-way sponsored Wyler Racing Toyota Tundra in the series.

Con-way has supported Red Ribbon since 1990.  The initiative is in memory of slain Drug Enforcement Agency agent Enrique Camarena and is in its twenty-first year.

San Mateo, California-based Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), is a $4.2 billion freight transportation, logistics, supply chain management and trailer manufacturing company.Further information about Con-way and additional press releases are available via the Internet at…www.con-way.com/.
