In Utah, the company received two Great Western Casualty awards. The company placed first in the LTL 4-Million Mile category with the lowest number of accidents per million miles driven of any carrier in the state. It also received first place honors in the General Commodities category for industrial safety by having the lowest number of worker injuries per 200,000 hours worked of any carrier in Utah.
In Minnesota, Con-way received first place honors in the Minnesota Trucking Association’s fleet safety contest. The company achieved the best on-road safety record in the Less-Than-Truckload Combined and theLess-Than-Truckload Local categories. The awards were based on Minnesota mileage and accident statistics and given, by carrier type, to the company with the lowest accident frequency ratio.
