HR Coordinator
Menlo Worldwide Logistics, Memphis, Tenn.

What makes one company better to work for than another? For Mary Britt, a human resources coordinator at Menlo Worldwide Logistics, it means a company with values that cares about her and her family. In her role, Mary is responsible for human resource functions such as the training, orientation, and transitioning of new employees and the rollout of new HR programs in Memphis, TN.
For Mary, the people at Menlo Worldwide Logistics make all the difference. It’s a work culture that encourages and supports employees in an atmosphere that feels like family. “At Menlo, people take care of each other,” said Mary. When Mary was in a serious car accident, fellow employees rushed to the scene. Even through the excitement of being involved in an accident with possible injuries, she was insistent that someone retrieve her laptop from the back of her truck. Despite her injuries, Mary was more concerned about her employees’ well-being than her own.
Mary recognizes Con-way’s support of her personal life as well as her professional life. When there are company events, spouses are invited. For Mary, that means her husband can join her on the road — allowing them to travel together and share the excitement and fun of awards ceremonies and seminars.
Mary strives to create good working relationships with her coworkers and enjoys sharing her experiences and opportunities provided by working with Con-way. Mary has expanded her horizons through programs such as Train-the-Trainer, and has also taken advantage of Menlo Worldwide Logistics’ generous educational benefits — allowing her to grow professionally. Mary’s dedication and commitment to grow the company have been encouraged and recognized by her peers and the organization. Mary was recently awarded the company’s highest award for achievement, the Con-way Constellation Award, for her exemplary dedication to the growth of the company and her coworkers.
Mary started as an administrative assistant to the facility manager at Menlo Worldwide Logistics, before being promoted to human resources coordinator. Commonly known as the “heart of Menlo,” Mary has been nominated by her peers for several Quarterly Leader Awards for her compassion and dedication. Menlo Worldwide Logistics is equally devoted to its employees’ success and happiness on the job. Mary feels fortunate to have upper management that believes in the culture and values she champions.
