At Con-way, we respect and honor the people who proudly serve our country. So we work hard to provide separating military, retired military, and National Guard and Reserve personnel career opportunities to help them succeed. We offer career opportunities, not only in driving, but also in logistics, IT, sales, finance administration and other areas.
Con-way leads the industry with a portfolio of offerings ranging from less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload and logistics. Con-way and its subsidiaries operate from more than 500 locations across North America and in 17 countries across five continents, delivering value from one end of the global supply chain to the other.
Con-way has relationships with the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and One-Stop centers throughout the country to help separated military personnel find the right job, program or opportunity to start, or continue, their training programs.
The GI Bill provides benefits to veterans, service members and some dependents who wish to further their education. One of the programs eligible for the GI Bill is enrollment in a truck driving training program. Students in these programs are able to defer some of the cost of their training with the Bill. The monthly entitlement from the GI Bill is based on the number of clock hours you attend training during each week of the month.
The skills you learn as a Motor Transport Operator in the service are the skills we’re looking for. Con-way has driving openings around the country in both our Truckload and Freight divisions. Con-way offers increased pay for experienced drivers. Experienced military drivers have the potential to earn more after they receive their CDL, essentially earning extra for military tractor-trailer experience.
