Cookies

What is a “cookie,” exactly?

A “cookie” is just a small piece of information that a Web site stores in a designated file on your computer’s hard drive. It can only be used to identify you when you visit the Web site that placed the cookie on your drive. Similarly, when you visit a site, that site can access only the information that it stored in your cookie. It can’t access information that may have been placed there by another site. Con-way is one of many sites that uses cookies.

Why does Con-way use cookies?

Mainly for your convenience. Cookies identify you and your profile settings on our site. If you set your browser to refuse cookies, we have no way of knowing what your preferences are. To access any of the more sophisticated applications on our site, you must set your browser to accept our cookies (this is most browsers’ default setting anyway). We will never provide information about you personally, or your individual site usage, to any outside parties. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

I don’t want to accept cookies on my computer. Can I still use the Con-way site?

Of course. We’ve adopted this widely used technology to make using the Con-way site even more convenient. However, if you choose not to use cookies, you may not be able to access the full functionality of the Con-way site. For example, registering requires using cookies. Additionally, as we introduce more personalized features to our site, they will also require cookies to deliver their full functionality. For example, to use the online pickup request, you must be using cookies.

How do I make sure my browser isn’t rejecting cookies from the Con-way site?

If you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer, choose Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Sites and add www.con-way.com as a site that is allowed to use cookies. In Firefox, choose Tools> Options> Privacy> Cookies> Allow sites to set cookies. In Safari, choose Safari> Preferences> Security> Accept Cookies> Only from sites you navigate to.
