Con-way Inc. recently completed its acquisition of Contract Freighters, Inc. (CFI), a privately held North American truckload carrier based in Joplin, Mo. The combination of CFI and Con-way Truckload resources has expanded our truckload operation and gives us the ability to provide our customers with a more comprehensive truckload service. The acquisition also complements our existing non-asset based truckload company, Con-way Truckload Services, that provides competitive capacity solutions for dry van, specialized and intermodal shipments
For Con-way Inc., the acquisition establishes the company as a unique enterprise in the freight transportation industry, offering market-leading less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload (TL) and supply chain management services with comprehensive services for shippers in North America and around the world.
