Con-way Freight Driver Recognized for Two Million Accident-Free Miles

March 29, 2007 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that professional truck driver Efrain Gomez has reached his two-millionth accident-free mile. That represents approximately 20,000 trips of his current route between Fontana and Temecula, Calif. Con-way officials honored Gomez for his achievement at a recent ceremony at the company's Fontana, Calif., service center. He logged the miles between 1985 and 2006.

(NYSE: CNW), today announced that its director of safety and environmental compliance, Robert G. (Bob) Petrancosta, has been selected to serve on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee. He will represent the motor carrier industry on the up to 20-member panel, tasked with advising the agency's administrator on issues such as policy, rule development and regulation interpretation and implementation.

Con-way Freight Celebrates Driver's Two Million Accident-Free Mile Achievement

(NYSE: CNW), today announced that driver Larry Painter has logged his two millionth accident-free mile. The company celebrated this achievement in a ceremony recently at its Fresno, Calif., service center. Painter traveled his accident-free miles between 1985 and 2006. Two million miles is the equivalent of more than 4,300 runs of his typical route between Fresno and Willows, Calif., without an accident.

The company marked his achievement in a recent ceremony at its Santa Fe Springs, Calif., service center. Quezada safely drove the two million miles between August 1988 and November 2006. Two million miles is the equivalent of more than 4,300 trips on his typical route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas without an accident.

In a ceremony to be held this month at the company's Denver, Colo., service center, Coveney will be honored for safely logging two million miles between April 11, 1990 and Feb. 10, 2007. Coveney joins a list of only 13 Con-way drivers to achieve this career milestone. Two million miles represents more than 4,700 trips on his typical route between Denver, Colo., and Wamsutter, Wyo.
